Seven Summits Centre for Learning is recognized as a reputable public high school in the local community. It is made possible through the ongoing support and guidance of the charitable non-profit Visions for Small Schools Society and thrives on the commitment and contribution of a devoted group of board directors. Their dedication and collective expertise are instrumental in maintaining the high educational standards at 7S. Each board member brings a unique set of skills and perspectives, enriching the overall dynamics and fostering a cohesive social environment within the school’s team.

Vision for Small School (VSS) society is looking for new board members to join our team. VSS is a non-profit charitable organization that oversees the operations of Seven Summits Centre for Learning and is governed by a board of directors.

Seeking Visionaries:
Support Vision for Small Schools (VSS) to advance its mission to offer a leading education experience for junior high / high school students in Rossland.

The AGM will be held in October 2024. VSS wishes to provide information ahead of this so people can make an informed decision.

  • Attend monthly board meetings 

  • Represent the board, staff and students at community events  

  • Seek opportunities to increase the Centre’s presence and recognition in the community  

  • Develop and foster relationships that benefit the Centre  

  • Create fundraising opportunities and revenue generation 

Skills and characteristics  

  • A keen interest in quality community education  

  • Knowledge and familiarity with youth and/or education  

  • Knowledge of not-for-profit and charitable governance  

  • A desire to participate and provide knowledge, resources and support 

  • Promote relationships within the community and attract shareholders
